United Components, Inc. Announces the Formation of a Direct
Traditional Aftermarket Sales Organization


EVANSVILLE, IN, November 1, 2006
– United Components, Inc. (UCI) announced today the formation of a direct Traditional Aftermarket sales organization that will represent all UCI product lines and brands. Bruce Tartaglione, UCI’s VP – Traditional Markets, has been selected to lead this new organization.

This new direct sales organization will provide increased direct customer support and face-to-face interaction by placing more “feet on the street” solely focused on UCI’s four primary categories—Filtration, Engine Management, Fuel Systems, and Water Pumps. A larger, better trained organization eventually representing all of the UCI lines will be utilized. Our plan is to use a combination of existing Airtex direct sales force people, other top people from UCI as well as new hires. At the same time, UCI will begin to gradually phase out its use of Independent Sales Agencies to service the Traditional Aftermarket business.
