On June 20, 2003, The Carlyle Group purchased the vehicle replacement parts business of UIS, Inc., which consisted of six independently operated companies: Airtex Products, Champion Laboratories, Flexible Lamps, Neapco, Pioneer, Inc., and Wells Manufacturing.
Today, Airtex Products, Champion Laboratories and Wells Manufacturing, along with the addition of ASC Industries, form the core of UCI. These four companies are working together to meet the challenges of the global marketplace and striving towards excellence.
